Axioms are statement that is taken to be true, to serve as a premise or starting point for further reasoning and arguments.

Implicit an axiom is to be understood as “this seems to be the truth based on our current experience”. Thereby axioms are not static, but probably tend to grow more static over time. They also tend to be more general over time. As an example we can look at the worldview. In ancient time, it was believed that the earth was the center of the universe, the geocentric worldview. Later came the heliocentric worldview, that placed the sun as the center of the universe. Later on it has been accepted that all objects influence each other, there are no center which everything orbits around. One move frome a spesific rule for a specific object to a general rule for a wider range of objects.

We in the reflexology community need a baseline for the future development of reflexology. A common start point for our discussions. It is very likely that the suggested set of axioms are not the same in a few years. Anyway, an open discussion might lead to many considerations that must be taken into account in future revisions.

A set of axioms might also be the fundation of a common definition of reflexology, in the future.

The peple you find on the list of supporters do not necessarily agree to all of the axioms, but they support it as a starting point fot the discussion. And hopefully they also wish to contribute to the discussion.
